Inquirying practical activity about culture of Hakka

 

 

 

 

 

客从何来?


鸡公车从老街青石板一路走来,


凹凸记录着她颠沛流离的岁月,


斑驳断裂诉说着千百年来的沧桑。

 

The trace?

By one-wheel trolley on bluish-green flagstone from old streets,

Records her vagrant time and tide on bumpy roads;

Mottled and broken traces tell us hundreds of thousands of years’ vicissitudes they have experienced. 

 

客从何来?


客家围屋,


封闭而显灵气,


精诚团结,固若金汤。


青砖、条石、烽火台,


绵延而上,


昂首挺胸,奋发向上。

 

  

The trace?

In enclosed houses of the Hakka,

Closed with anima,

Sincerely unites as strong as iron.

Roads on which bluish-green bricks are combined with narrow bricks Stretch along to smoke towers;

Hakkas chin up and chest out, striving to make progress.

 

 

 

客从何来?


伤心凉粉,


根根牵挂着思乡的酸甜苦辣;


精美提篮,


丝丝编织着灿烂的笑脸。

 

 

The trace?

In “Shangxin (heart-broken)” bean jelly,

With every piece in mixture of joys, sorrows and homesickness;

The exquisite baskets,

Whose bamboo chips weave bright smiles.

 

 

 

 

  

 

 

客从何来?


或火龙,舞丰收,


或水龙,泼感恩,


立根中原,情满五洲。


倾听阿公娓娓道来:


“要得会,天天累,要得精,人前听”;


“一时强弱在于力,千古胜负在于理”。 

 

The trace?

Or fiery dragons, dances in pray for good harvest

Or fire hoses, splashes in demonstration of gratefulness,

Deeply rooted in Central China with her deep concerns all over the nation,

Listen to what grandpa chants:

If you want to learn something, it is natural that you will try every endeavor every day.

If you want to learn it perfectly you should follow others’ advice and do as they told.

Strength may win temporarily, but only truth could gain eventual victory.
